Clean-up improves neighbourhood
Jessica Derbyshire, chair of Dogridge Residents’ Association, explains how residents changed their neighbourhood for the better. “We in the residents' association decided that it was time for Dogridge to have a bit of a make over – so a few residents, including children, all got together over the Easter period and had a good clean-up! “Over the years, Dogridge has looked very tired and run down, but instead of just sitting there looking at it we wanted to make it look more inviting. Some residents edged pavements and swept up, while others dug flower gardens outside their homes. A good many days and hours were spent on this but it was well worth it as the area now looks completely different. “We are proud
of where we live and intend to keep it that way so the work is ongoing.
Thank you to all who took part in the clean up and to Westlea's grounds
maintainance team for the supply of bags and quick removal of all the
resulting rubbish. And a very special thank you to Ralph White of Wootton
Bassett Town Council for his donation of old plants for us to recycle.”
