Alison Cross-Jones


Alison Cross-JonesAlison has been a Westlea Board member for the last three years. Her previous work experience is in the licensee and retail trade where she worked as an Assistant Manager. Over the last eight years Alison has been successfully working as an Advocate helping families of children with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and vulnerable adults. She is a Westlea resident and has a long history in Resident & Community Involvement in Cardiff (where she grew up) and Wiltshire. Alison has Chaired Westlea's District Forum, the local Community Area Partnership in Malmesbury and the Children's centre Advisory Forum in Malmesbury. She plays an active role in Malmesbury where she lives and is a member of the Carnival Committee. She is a member of the Community Development Exchange (CDX), the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) and is a member of the Wiltshire & Gloucestershire CIH Area Group.

Previously Alison has been a Director of Wiltshire & Swindon Users Network which is an organisation working with Wiltshire Council to address the needs and give a voice to those with a disability, those with mental health needs and the over 55s. She was also a Director of TPAS (Tenant Participation Advisory Service) and was Vice-Chair from 2010 until 2011. In 2010 Alison was appointed as a Tenant Inspection Adviser for the Audit Commission.

Recently, Alison has played a key role in setting up and has been appointed as a Trustee for MACH (Malmesbury Area Community Hub) which is a charitable company limited by guarantee. MACH are looking to provide services and projects to the wider Malmesbury and villages Community Area within a central location.

Alison holds a level 4 City & Guilds adult teaching qualification and is an Associate member of the Institute for Learning. She has recently been teaching and training tenants. One of her recent projects was shortlisted for an NHF regional award.
