Getting back into work

Workability Workshops

In association with Vocation Quest, Westlea runs a range of workshops dedicated to showing how unemployment is not the end of the road, people do care, and there are different routes back to financial independence - it’s just a case of finding your way. The workshops are designed to help each individual identify what they need and get some focus on how they can achieve what they want.

Sue Jordan of Vocation Quest says: "When the worst thing has happened and you have become unemployed and you can’t see a way forward, it’s good to know that there are people who care about you and want to help you to get the individual support you need."

The photo shows GreenSquare residents at one of Sue’s workshops aimed at people who want to start a business. Three of these workshops have run so far and the next one is on 12 October.

If you are interested in a new way of seeing things or looking for direction, then the series of skills workshops might be for you; check with Lisa Wroe for new dates now being planned on 01249 466159 or lisa.wroe@westlea.co.uk.

Vocation Quest CIC provides advice and guidance for local unemployed people wishing to gain financial independence. It supports people to enable them to discover and see for themselves their own unique employment value. It does this through its work clubs providing mentoring and coaching, supporting people in their goal of  getting permanent employment or to develop further through training.

Their website is at www.vocationquest.co.uk and they are on Facebook: www.facebook.com/vocationquestcic.
