Hooks Hill charity tea party

Residents of Hooks Hill, Purton enjoyed a cream tea and raised over £280 for Marie Curie Cancer Care charity on Wednesday 22 June.

Residents tucked in to their cream teas while Westlea's Andrew Pullen organised the raffle - and everyone seemed to win a prize.

Residents paid for their teas and bought raffle tickets to as part of the Marie Curie Cancer Care Blooming Great Tea Party 2011 charity appeal. In addition, two local companies that work with Weslea sponsored the event. Prior Co Ltd, who are local carpenters and general builders, and who are currently installing new fire doors and new front doors for residents donated £100. And APT Electricals, who are currently installing a new fire alarm system also contributed £100.

The total of £288.50 raised will have Gift Aid added to it bedore being sent off to the charity.

Tea parties were also taking place at Croft Court (which is being sponsored by Wiltshire Farm Foods) and Heberden House.
