Have you heard of Skype?

Skype allows people to make voice and video calls over the Internet. The IT Learning Co-ordinators at Westlea help people to understand and use the Internet and they have helped a number of residents, all beginners, to install and use Skype.

Skype’s key benefits and features are:

  • Skype is quick and free to download.
  • Computer-to-computer calls between Skype members are completely free wherever you are in the world.
  • More than one of your Skype contacts can be involved in a call at a time – entire families can get together over Skype.
  • The ‘video’ feature means that you can make video calls and actually see friends and family – if you so choose!
