Rudloe holiday fun

The Summer Holiday event at the Rudloe Community Centre on Wednesday 3 August was attended by 17 families (11 of which were Westlea families) with a total of 40 children enjoying the healthy lifestyle activities. The weather was really good to us, encouraging families to come out and stay for the full two hours.
As well as Stay and Play and the health visitor clinic, activities included outside sport activities for children of all ages, making your own and eating healthy wraps, and a health and safety fun activity demonstrating to children with the help of ultra violet light how clean their hands are before and after washing.
All these activities went down really well with both children and their parents. The children were particularly amazed to discover how many germs remained on their hands even after washing, encouraging them to wash their hands more thoroughly with soap before eating.
Diane Warren, Neighbourhood worker at Westlea said: "It was a wonderful morning with families, health visitors, the children's centre, and Westlea coming together for summer holiday fun. Everyone had a brilliant time. I hope to see all the families and more at our next Rudloe event. I'd like to thank all the people who helped organise the event for their hard work".
The next Summer holiday event at Rudloe Community Centre is on Wednesday 17 August, 10am to 12 noon. All families in the community are welcome. The next session will include road safety, arts and crafts, Stay and Play, and more sportzcoach outdoor activities. Ask Wiltshire will also be attending to provide families with lots of information and advice specifically relevant to them. No need to book just turn up and enjoy the fun.
