Staff at Chippenham-based Westlea Housing had an afternoon tea break for charity... which has resulted in a £300 donation to Dorothy House Hospice.

The 'Tea at 3' event, held recently, involved staff baking and bringing in a variety of tasty cakes that were laid out for staff to enjoy during their afternoon tea break. Senior staff including managing director Ann Cornelius donned their pinnies to serve colleagues, who were asked to give a donation for the cakes they ate.

Staff had nominated local charity Dorothy House Hospice to benefit from the event. "We're really happy to be able to support such a worthy cause," said Ann Cornelius.

Dorothy House offers physical, psychological, social and spiritual care to patients and their families facing life threatening illness, death or bereavement, who have specific problems which need specialist skills. The charity seeks to promote the development of palliative care through education of others and research; all services in the community and the hospice are provided free of charge and with equal access to all.
