women, with or without children, who are fleeing abuse.

You
may not want to leave but would like to talk to another person about
your situation – the Women’s Refuge or any other agency
listed, can provide help and information.
If
you decide to leave, try to take with you:
•
Your house key
• Proof of ID and income
• Clothing for yourself and your children.
Here
are several practical reasons why women may not want to leave. These
may apply to you:
•
You may be afraid of further assaults.
• You may be worried about money to support yourself and your
children.
• You may be worried about losing your home, your possessions,
or even your children.
• You may fear the isolation of living as a single parent.
Who
are we?
North Wiltshire Women’s Refuge provides temporary accommodation,
in two locations, for women and their children who are fleeing domestic
abuse.
Our
two refuges each have five rooms providing privacy and a safe space
for yourself and any children you may have. There is a large communal
kitchen in each project and a living room where you can meet and talk
to other women.
What
we offer
You will not be left alone to worry about what happens next. The Support
Workers can offer:
•
Information on your legal, financial, and housing rights.
• Practical and emotional assistance with any problems that
may be causing you worry or distress.
• Links with other agencies that may be able to offer assistance.
• Help with children’s issues.
Confidentiality
is respected at all times, and, if the refuge is unable to assist
you, we can put you in touch with other agencies who can.
Some
women come to the refuge for respite - a space for time to think.
Everyone
who needs help is welcome.
